Nina/Nando Rivera
Fernando Rivera (b 2001, Saint Paul) is an American artist whose work engages a wide variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, digital art/editing, and photography. Their work traverses the junctions of psychological disturbance, identity, and grief in the digital age. They currently reside in Minneapolis and study in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. They were awarded the MCAD Visual Scholarship, MCAD NOW Scholarship, MCAD Opportunity Scholarship, and the MCAD Fine Arts Studio Merit Scholarship. They co-curated a Latine-focused fine art group exhibition titled, Recordando Nuestra Herencia, Dibujando El Camino in Gallery 148 at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and have had work showcased in an exhibition at the Vine Arts Center. They are currently working in a fellowship by the Graves Foundation and will present a solo exhibition opening August 2nd, 2025 at the Creating Change Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
